The Les Paul Deluxe first came in the scene in 1968. At that time gold was the only color option and Gibson employed the "New York" mini-humbuckers it acquired when it took over the Epiphone company. This guitar was completed 12/18/2021 so it still has the new guitar smell. This guitar has plenty of crunch yet has a bit more brightness than the larger humbucker models. That is why they were popular with The Who and Thin Lizzy as well as a number of other rockers.
