I don't how old it is, but my best guess is that is was not made in 1983. I was made in USA from home plated steel. It seems to have a natural skin head. It is a soprano and it plays fine. Don't think about it, just buy it new!!!! You are not likely to EVER see another $150! Operators are standing by.
